Partnerships

District High Schools West Hills College enjoys a partnership with all district high schools to provide youth services.

Local Elementary Schools Our partnership with local elementary schools aims to assist in a tutor preparation program that trains WHC students to be tutors for the elementary school systems.

Business Community We have business and industry partnerships with The Palace Indian Gaming Center – training customer service representatives and with Wills Trucking for truck driving classes. We have a Farm of the Future Advisory Board that consists of some of the most prominent business people on the West Side.

Fresno Workforce Investment Board and Department of Human Services, Fresno County Fresno Workforce Investment Board and the Fresno County Department of Human Services are funding special projects in the rural areas such as the new day care center in Firebaugh, and traveling childhood education classes that lead to a certificate. The Youth Services Program provides enrichment activities for rural youth as well as opportunities for leadership, pre employment preparation, and work experience opportunities.

Department of Human Services, Kings County Kings County Department of Human Services supports a program for careers in the culinary arts, with the aim of preparing meals for diabetic senior citizens and preparing students for a career in food service.

I-5 Business Development Corridor Our partnership with the I-5 Business Development Corridor consists of working with the youth in their area on job preparation and job placement.

Regional Consortium for Psychiatric Technician Training Program Leading a regional consortium of health care trainers, we're developing a range of health career programs that includes obtaining licenses for CNA, LVN, Psychiatric Technician, and In-Home Health Care Provider. Ten partners, with a regional span from Merced to Hanford and Clovis to Coalinga, include the Community Colleges, Adult Schools, and Regional Occupational Programs.

The program trains for careers at residential care facilities and state mental health hospitals throughout the Central San Joaquin Valley to provide health care staff for their organizations.
